Aims:
- To provide you with an introduction to training volunteer mentors/befrienders
- To introduce you to the MBF resource that covers the basics of volunteer training
- To explore training frameworks that you can develop to suit your own programme and the needs of your volunteers
Audience:
- Project co-ordinators or trainers for mentoring or befriending programmes of any size with little or no prior experience of delivering training for volunteer mentors
Learning outcomes:
- To recognise the importance of learning styles when delivering training
- To understand the key elements of mentor/befriender training
- To practise and appraise a range of activities appropriate for your training
- To clarify different levels and methods of training evaluation
Trainer biography:
MBF's own regional co-ordinators deliver this course. All are experienced trainers and have extensive background in mentoring and befriending provision.
