Frances Flint - West Midlands Regional Co-ordinator

Fran's professional background is quite varied, but has always involved working with, and supporting people as they develop skills and face life's challenges. She started her career in the caring professions as a volunteer with the Coventry Samaritans in the late 1970’s, then went on to take the Diploma in Youth and Community Work at a College in North Wales in the early 1980’s. She also trained as a counsellor at Rugby College, and feels she has used those two skill bases in most of her work since then. Fran has had a range of experience, including working in adult education, youth work, mentoring people experiencing life with a disability, and supporting people living in residential groups. She has volunteered for a number of projects, and worked in support of volunteers.

Fran has a sector specific lead role and is the MBF national contact for organisations working with people who have physical, sensory and/or learning disability.

Fran is keen to make contact with West Midlands based Mentoring and Befriending Projects and Organisations, and looks forward to developing a wider knowledge of the excellent Mentoring and Befriending work that is happening in the Region.
