Mentoring and Befriending Foundation’s South West Information Exchange Forums

A networking opportunity for mentoring and befriending practitioners in the South West

The Mentoring and Befriending Foundation are hosting a series of information exchange forums in the South West for mentoring and befriending practitioners.

These information exchange programmes will be informal, friendly and informative and will provide practitioners with the opportunity to network with one another and engage in topical discussions that relate specifically to the mentoring and befriending sector.

The first round of meetings will take place during March and the two topics open for discussion at these meetings will include:

Getting to grips with commissioning:
The MBF would like to explore with practitioners how the move from grants to commissioning of third sector services by the public sector is progressing in the South West. What are the challenges and opportunities for the mentoring and befriending sector as a result of this move? How is the sector preparing itself to engage in local service planning and delivery?

Weathering the recession:
The economic downturn is affecting all parts of society and mentoring and befriending projects are no exception. The MBF would like to explore with practitioners their funding anxieties, the implications of the recession upon current mentoring and befriending service delivery and how the sector can better prepare itself for future funding implications.

Events will be taking place in:

Taunton 5th March 2010
Bristol 12th March 2010

Plymouth 19th March 2010
Salisbury 26th March 2010

Spaces are limited so early booking is essential. Tea and coffee will be provided.
