Involving unemployed people as volunteers
GMCVO is holding a free one day course looking at involving unemployed people as volunteers
The Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisations (GMCVO) is holding a free one day course on Thursday 21st January 2010, at their St Thomas Centre, Ardwick, Manchester address.
The course will look at involving unemployed people as volunteers, and will cover:
•How to engage with and motivate unemployed people as volunteers
•How to provide appropriate support
•Barriers to involving unemployed people in volunteering
•Good practice advice to volunteer managers
•Up-to-date information about volunteering and welfare benefits
The course is aimed at:
•Volunteer managers throughout Greater Manchester
•Volunteering infrastructure organisations
•Organisations supporting unemployed people
