Mentors to target girls in Manchester

Mentoring scheme will attempt to empower teenage girls and steer them away from crime

The Reclaim Project, organised by Urbis, will mentor girls between the ages of 12 and 14 from a local community in south Manchester.

As government statistics show girls are increasingly involved in crime and an influential part of street culture; time, resources and support will have to be spent on girls' schemes as with boys, in order to improve the wellbeing of the local community.
