MBF Networking event proves popular with project co-ordinators from across the region
The half-day free event, held in Nottingham on 19th March focussed on the recruitment and retention of volunteer mentors and befrienders
Isobel Hunt from Community Service Volunteers (CSV) and James Argent from the Prince's Trust set the scene by talking about their own experiences of recruiting and retaining mentors and befrienders and shared good practice.
This was followed by delegates sharing what was working well in their own organisations and working in groups to explore new ideas and solutions. A format which provided 'a good opportunity to network and bounce ideas off others' and 'lots of opportunity to share ideas'.
The suggestions and ideas recorded on flipcharts during the activities are being typed up and sent to all delegates for future reference and inspiration!
The event rounded off with lunch and the opportunity for further networking.
Further events are being planned across the region. To find out more or to suggest topics, contact your MBF regional co-ordinators: val.barritt@mandbf.org.uk and eileen.redpath@mandbf.org.uk
