Eileen has been involved in the field of mentoring and befriending for some years now both within education and the community.   She has developed an awareness of the positive impact mentoring and befriending across all sectors can have both regionally and nationally. 

At regional level Eileen is keen to provide support and guidance to both practitioners and policy makers.   Eileen is keen to facilitate dialogue between the public and third sectors around how mentoring and befriending can support and underpin local area agreement targets for example reducing youth crime, antisocial behaviour and increasing community cohesion. Eileen’s work also provides information on good practice to funders and commissioners to help them make informed decisions when looking to fund new or existing mentoring or befriending services.

Eileen has a sector specific lead and is the MBF national contact for organisations working within culture, media and sport.
