Eileen has been involved in the field of mentoring and befriending for the past 12 years working previously for the Leicestershire Education Business Company.
Eileen was appointed as Regional Coordinator for the East Midlands Mentoring & Befriending Foundation in 2006. She has a background in mentoring, both as a mentor & coordinating a mentoring project but has developed a knowledge and keen appreciation of the role of befriending in all its applications.
Mentoring and Befriending has always been an interest of Eileen's who believes the support this opportunity can provide is key to developing life experiences and self esteem at a vulnerable time in a persons life.
Eileen's sector specialism is Sport and she is keen to hear from mentoring & befriending projects involved in this field.

Val Barritt - Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire

Val Barritt has held many roles in the public and private sector and has extensive experience of setting up and managing mentoring projects within education, business and the community. She established one of the first e-mail mentoring projects in Derbyshire, delivered workshops at national conferences and has wide experience of the planning and delivering of training to volunteers and coordinators.
She has a particular interest in projects which focus on using mentoring and befriending to support people into employment and is keen to hear from projects and organisations in this field.
