Group jumps into action
An organisation aimed at helping young people overcome problems at home and school has been launched in Lowestoft
The Junior2adult Unbiased Mentoring Project (JUMP) is a voluntary organisation started by Louise Botwright to help teenagers get their lives back on track. They are supported by mentors who have been through similar experiences and can guide them through any difficult situations.
The mentors, who receive training for their role, offer understanding and friendship and are paired with young people based on gender and personal interests. The pairs take part in activities such as sport and music and tackle issues like drug awareness, building self-esteem and anger management.
