Report on the role of third sector innovation released by Cabinet Office

Rt. Hon. Anne McGuire MP recommends ways to personalise health and social care, and services to reduce re-offending

The final report from the Rt. Hon. Anne McGuire MP (Cabinet Office’s Advisor on Third Sector Innovation) has been published. MBF responded to her original call for evidence – our response can be read here.

Recommendations in her final report relate to supporting individuals to make genuine choices, enabling the co-production of services, funding preventative services, measuring the value of service user engagement and ensuring a vibrant market of services is developed.

The report also identifies a key need for the third sector and government to develop a common dialogue on how personalisation can be driven forward. Reference to the St Giles Trust peer mentoring model for offenders is included in the report.
