Free Access to Volunteering Fund events in March
Look at the many ways organisations can work with disabled volunteers
The Access to Volunteering Fund is a £2 million pilot project that aims to increase the number of disabled people volunteering by giving small grants to organisations who support people with disabilities to volunteer. The Fund is running in three trial areas – Greater London, the North West and the West Midlands.
The pilot consists of five rounds of grant funding of between £250 - £5,000, with an average grant of £2,000 anticipated. This will run between autumn 2009 and March 2011.
The next deadline for applications is the 19th April 2010. As part of the pilot there are a series of events being held to help organisations understand the many ways they can work with disabled volunteers:

- Birmingham: 22nd March 2010, 10.00am – 11.30am
- Liverpool: 22nd March 2010, 3.30pm – 5.00pm
- London: 23rd March 2010, 10.00am – 11.30am
