Help promote the dignity of people receiving care through mentoring and befriending

Dignity Action Day: February 25th 2010

DoH logo
Dignity Action Day asks health and social care staff and members of the public to take action on or around February 25th to promote the dignity of people receiving care.

Due to their focus on one-to-one support and personalisation, mentoring and befriending projects are well placed to meet the needs of individuals in their local communities and are therefore able to support the main goals of the dignity in care agenda.

General public and mentoring and befriending projects can make pledges and list volunteering opportunities that could be carried out on 25th February 2010 as part of the campaign. Projects can promote specific activities or recruit volunteers.

MBF would like to encourage mentoring and befriending projects to get involved and play their part in giving people dignity in care.
