MBF are interested in facilitating a dialogue between the public and third sectors around how mentoring and befriending can support and underpin Local Area Agreement (LAA) targets. As a result MBF are holding a series of events across the country aimed at opening up a dialogue between commissioners and funders and mentoring and befriending practitioners.

These unique free regional events have been designed to bring together mentoring and befriending practitioners and commissioners and funders to:

• Promote understanding of the benefits of mentoring and befriending programmes and how they can contribute to local and regional priorities
• Help commissioners and funders and mentoring and befriending practitioners to understand each others requirements in relation to commissioning and funding programmes
• Increase awareness of the guidance and support that MBF can offer to regional and local commissioners and funders including the national quality standard: the Approved Provider Standard
• A new MBF guide for commissioners and funders will also be launched at the events
