Research report from Volunteering England
A research report Volunteering and faith communities commissioned by Volunteering England is aimed at groups and individuals interested in faith-based volunteering including volunteering infrastructure organisations, funders and policymakers.
The research undertaken by De Montfort University aims to gain a better understanding of faith-based volunteering with questions to be answered such as “What are the needs of faith-based organisations and how can these be understood and met by volunteering infrastructure?”

- Organisational aspects (volunteer recruitment)
- Relationship with organisations (support structures, organisational issues, funding)
- Networking and partnership work (challenges)
- The support needs of faith groups
- Community cohesion (work in the community, representing the community, interfaith work, breaking down stereotypes)
- Working together (engagement at local level)
