Refugee young carers and their families
Free online toolkit for practitioners
Developed by The Children’s Society Family Health Inclusion Project and funded by the Department of Health this is an electronic tool for all adult and children’s services practitioners, education, health and other agencies in contact with refugee and asylum seeking families. Particularly those working with families affected by ill-health and disability and where there are young carers.
This is a good practice resource designed to enable all service providers to stay informed about the needs, rights and entitlements of refugee and asylum seeker young carers and their families and to carry out effective and appropriate signposting and joint working. The aim is that by using this resource, asylum seeking and refugee families will have better access to appropriate health services.
