Lean on me - primary peer mentoring is promoted in schools

Case study highlights peer mentoring as a tool to boost wellbeing

Peer mentoring in primary schools is rapidly becoming a powerful tool for social inclusion. It makes a valuable contribution to the emotional and social wellbeing of children while supporting programmes such as Every Child Matters and SEAL. Children can gain new skills that will impact directly on their own learning and personal development.

The Mentoring and Befriending Foundation (MBF) is currently running the National Peer Mentoring Anti Bullying pilot in 150 primary, secondary and special schools.

St. Andrew's CE Primary School in Eccles, Manchester, joined the pilot last September and their peer mentoring project is featured in this month's issue of Junior Education Plus.
