Update on Supported Employment Partnership

MBF and Remploy initiative moves forward

Discussions between MBF and Remploy over the past few months have taken place to consider how mentoring and befriending can ultimately add value to the Supported Employment (SE) process allowing those identified with a disability to successfully gain entry to and sustain a work placement.

The initiative is moving successfully forward into its second phase after an encouraging response from the previously advertised invitation to register interest in the proposed partnership.  After a first round of telephone contact, interested parties have been invited to attend an event which aims to:

• Provide information about Remploy and MBF
• Discuss ideas/share best practice, examining how mentoring and befriending can add value to the SE process
• Forge links with peer projects and national/lead organisations
• Explore all stakeholder benefits of the proposed partnerships
• Enable participants to develop strategic delivery plans
• answer questions and queries

Further updates on the partnership’s development will follow and anyone interested in the partnership initiative is welcome to email either Rosy Dick or Ruth Morris at MBF.
