Report on homelessness recommends funders support mentoring schemes

Highlights charities working to prevent people becoming homeless as well as those helping others to find a route out

Lost property, New Philanthropy Capital’s latest report on homelessness, argues that the problem is about much more than not having a roof overhead. It highlights charities working to prevent people becoming homeless, as well those helping people to rebuild their lives and find a route out of homelessness.

Aimed at donors, the report recommends supporting charities that are working to prevent homelessness, helping homeless people find jobs, and giving them the confidence and skills to live independently.

One of the charities highlighted in the report is St Basils in Birmingham which provides a mentoring service to young people.
