National training programme

MBF’s national training programme was introduced in 2007 as part of our commitment to help increase the knowledge and skills within the sector.

This year, as part of that on-going commitment and in response to your feedback, we have launched our new programme for 2010-2011 based around a two-tier level of specialist courses, offered at locations across England.

‘Getting started’ is our range of courses aimed at those who are new to the sector or have limited experience of mentoring and befriending. These courses cover the essentials of setting up and managing a mentoring or befriending programme.

‘Developing people and projects’ is our range of courses aimed at those with experience of mentoring or befriending and who are looking to develop their skills, build on their knowledge or introduce new ideas and theories to develop their volunteers and programmes.

All courses have been designed to help you meet the elements of the Approved Provider Standard.
