Aims:
- To provide you with an introduction to training for volunteer befrienders
- To introduce you to the MBF resource that covers the basics of volunteer training
- To support you to develop a training framework to suit your own project and needs of your volunteers
Audience:
- Project co-ordinators or trainers for befriending programmes of any size with little or no prior experience of delivering training for volunteer befrienders
Learning outcomes:
- Recognise the importance of learning styles when delivering training
- Understand the key elements of befriender training
- Practise and appraise a range of activities appropriate for training
- Clarify different levels and methods of evaluation
Trainer biography:
MBFs own regional co-ordinators deliver this course. All are experienced trainers and have extensive background in mentoring and befriending provision.
