UK General Election 2010 and beyond
MBF's Agenda for Change
To keep mentoring and befriending high on the agenda following the General Election on 6 May, we have put together an Agenda for Change which outlines three key challenges to the new Parliament to champion mentoring and befriending - with people, with volunteers and with communities.
As MBF engages with all political parties at a national level to ensure that mentoring and befriending receives the attention it deserves, we hope that you will help to spread the word too, at a local level. This is a great opportunity to build a positive relationship with your MP to let them know about your programme, how it makes a difference and why they should champion mentoring and befriending both locally and in Parliament.
We have developed a briefing paper outlining the ways that you can start building a relationship with your MP and templates to help you draft an introductory letter or email.
We hope you will find these resources helpful. We are keen to get your feedback on our Agenda for Change as well as any successes you have in contacting your new MP. Please email us your views and experiences at info@mandbf.org.uk
